Oldway Portage (Beothuk Highway)

I have been set adrift
into a strangers dream,
a black black night
in a pearl white sea.
The clicking of Hooves
a thousand strong
drawn to flight
in this starless night.

The ravens cry
and blinding light
from the eagles eye
marks my place
in this rocky paradise.

The creators drum
was put aside
for a metal bell
and a wooden cross.
